How to Save, Compact & Close the Estimate |

To close the current estimate, click File>Close.
If the estimate has not yet been saved, QDV7 saves it, by default, in the temporary directory C:/Users/<user name>/AppData/Local/Temp/QDVTempFilesMain; this path is for Vista. (To make the hidden folder visible, set the directory options accordingly.)
To save it, click File>Save as. To preset the values in the 'Save as' menu item, refer to Global Variables.
A message, whose delay after the latest major change is set in File>Options>Settings (default delay: 30 min), prompts to save the estimate (exception: when an article or set viewer is open).
To compress the estimate file, click File>Tools>Files Estimate>Compact the estimate. This replaces the selected file in its folder with a lighter file.
To protect the file, click File>Tools>Files Estimate>Encrypt with Password.
