How to Replace Article Rows

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

To replace the selected article row, open the source database and click the fourth icon (or F8). The quantity, and the fields with attribute "Replace when updating" set to No on estimate side (refer to How to Create Free Columns with Custom Behavior) are NOT replaced; the cell appearance is never imported.

The "Unique fields" (refer to How to Create Free Columns with Custom Behavior) are NEVER replaced through F8 if an "identical" row exists in the estimate.

To quickly substitute a row with an article throughout the estimate:

1.Group the rows by manufacturer

2.From the database viewer, drag and drop the substitute over the old row (possibly a group header) in the Nomenclatures tab; the fields whose attribute “Replace when updating” is No are left unchanged:

NOTES

- At first replacement, a warning message pops up

- Unlike updating, the fields used for identification of articles does not matter

- The quantity in the database is not taken into account

- Swapping an article in another group is not forbidden; after recomputing costs, the new article goes to its actual group; it can be of interest to replace a row not attached to any database with a database article (see illustration).
