How to Consume Variables

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

In the Articles Sheet (article rows)

If the need arises, paste variables to complement/substitute for the article row values when the set is inserted into the minutes.

For a nested set, the description may be a string subject to an IF condition to insert different descriptions.

PROCEDURE

To invoke a variable (QDV_Input_ or GLV_ or SYS_ or Set_ or Parent_ or MGT_) or a range:

1.Click Automation>Formulas>Paste Names or use the context menu Paste Name; this opens a multiple-entry clipboard where all the set-defined names (with SYS_UserName and SYS_Lang_UI  and, if an estimate is open, all the global variables) are available

2.Pick up a name; this enters the present value of the variable

3.Double-click a row with a formula to check out the formula behind.

NOTES

- At insertion, the quantity of articles will be multiplied by the quantity of sets (1 if missing); to add an extra calculation in article level, use Set_Quantity in a formula where it will represent the quantity entered quantity of sets

- The minute takes the value of the variable in the estimate the set is inserted into

- You can type a formula provided the invoked variable is in the Name Manager, otherwise #NAME? shows. Refer to Consumption of Variables

In the Data Sheet of a Set

The right part (Headers of set derogations) in the Data tab, visible in Edit mode, enables the bidder to pass values on to the minutes.

If the need arises, enter variables manually (as a formula) to substitute for the set row values when the set is inserted into the minutes.
